Faith: Why I Pray for My Children
I believe in Jesus Christ, and my faith is closely tied to prayer. Praying for your children in Jesus' name is one of the most powerful things you can do as a parent. In John 16:23, Jesus says, "Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in my name, he will give you."
That belief is also why I write faith-based children's books for families.
Even so, parents naturally worry. Will they fit in at school? Will their friends like them? Did they remember their homework? The list goes on.
That is why I keep praying. I ask for God's will to be done, not mine. Prayer also brings comfort and strength, especially during tough times.
Family: Where My Story Begins
To me, family means love, support, and togetherness. It is a foundation that tells you someone will always have your back. Because it is rooted in shared experiences and mutual care, this bond goes beyond family ties.
In a family, love is unconditional, so it is a safe place to be yourself without judgment. Support also comes in many forms. For example, it may be a listening ear (a big thank you to my husband) or guidance from my mom or my sister. Sometimes, it is simply being present in both happy and hard times.
Above all, family reminds us that we are never alone. A whole village will stand by you, celebrate your wins, and help you through tough times. That love and support shaped who I am today.
Family is where my story begins, and it is the heart behind every one of my Christian children's books.
Meet the Author, Jami Jacobs
Fear Not: Asher's Invisible Shield is my first faith-based children's book. I wrote it to help kids deal with anxiety while growing in faith. I believe God placed it on my heart for children who struggle with worry and the desire to feel accepted. As parents, we can shield our kids with prayer, and that makes everyday struggles a little easier.
In the story, Asher Reign also faces anxiety, the wish to be accepted, and the importance of faith.
My Inspiration:
My son also inspired this book. For as long as I can remember, I have prayed for him. I asked God to place a hedge of protection around him and let no weapon formed against him prosper. I used to imagine a shield around him every moment of every day, and I still do. Even though he is an adult now, I never stop praying for him.
